Brian began his pianistic career as a child prodigy, giving his first concerts at 8 and embarking on a full performing career at 10. Having won several competitions, he became an Australian Broadcasting Commission Young Artist at 10, and gave 67 concerts all over Australia as part of the ABC concert series. Arriving in London in 1966, he won 2 Arts Council scholarships for his playing.

His classical career has since seen him performing in Germany, Italy, Greece, France, Morocco, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Singapore, Australia, New Caledonia, La Réunion, the UK and the USA. He has played in most UK concert halls both as a soloist and accompanist, working with such artists as Kiri Te Kanawa, Stuart Burrows and MacHenry Boatwright. He has performed at Royal Galas in London and Windsor, and was a soloist at the London Coliseum in the Save The Titian concert. Overseas, he has accompanied singers such as Montserrat Caballe and Martina Arroyo.

He has also been a concert pianist for variety shows featuring Roy Orbison, Frankie Vaughan, Dick Emery, Frankie Howerd, Bruce Forsyth and Victor Borge.
